At a certain time in one’s life, one can take time to reflect on life and the world in which one lives. Now, at the age of 76, it is time. I have been a somewhat thoughtful person over the years, but recently, having retired from a fifteen year career as an executive coach, my reflections have deepened as I reach the final years of my life. It has now become my vocation to research, think and write about a variety of subjects as they surface from time to time.
While I love my country and have a deep respect for its values, institutions and history, I have chosen not to write about political matters, with the exception of one chapter. There is plenty of discourse on the internet and it is unlikely that adding another voice will be that useful or interesting. I decided 12 years ago to stop listening to talking heads on television or radio. This has dramatically improved the quality of my life while I remain reasonably informed. I recommend it.
There are deeper existential questions as well as other meaningful concerns and stories that interest me. So I hope you find this thought provoking. It has been an interesting journey for me in creating some clarity amidst the mystery.
